About Me

Mendy’s management forte is developing teams and achieving operational excellence; she brings over 25 years of healthcare industry experience. Her career started as a memory care unit aide while attending nursing school. It was there where she developed her passion for taking care of the elderly, ill and injured. Her extensive expertise spans the delivery of care in various settings, including bedside care, general medical-surgical, ICU, ER, oncology, and understanding of the inner workings within the ever-changing healthcare sector. She led an international travel insurance case management and medical team in her previous position and had the unique opportunity to see first-hand healthcare in several countries and care settings.  Her career scope includes operations director for a venture-capital-backed tech startup. Under her direction, her team developed a national, “concierge-style” contact center focused on providing members with assistance in benefits, appointments, triage nursing, and telemedicine delivered in a mobile application.

Her most recent pursuit is in-home health management, where she found to be the most rewarding nursing profession that she has had to date.  Her clinical methodologies in the home health setting focus on breaking down barriers, identifying crucial fragments of care in the home setting, and utilizing environmental, functional, and multi-disciplinary assessments to understanding patients’ health habits and disease knowledge deficits. In addition, Mendy believes in care being guided by SMART goals to develop patient-specific care plans. SMART defines specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely delivery of care where the patients make sustainable, positive changes in their quality of life and health status. She believes it is in the patients living environments where the healthcare industry can make its markable impacts. In joining Assure, her goals are to complement our already solid reputation in the home healthcare industry by redesigning the way we do business using innovative ideas and technology. Her focus is on building a robust, scalable, and reliable process with the ability to provide world-class quality service, outcomes, and consistency to our patients and provider partners. In addition, she desires to further the recognition and professionalism of home health nursing as a vital service in the community and the healthcare industry.
